Briefly Summarizing Known History Of The Property:
Independence Boulevard was
once one of Charlotte's major commercial corridors. Thus,
automobiles and trucks became the principal means of transportation through
this area. Shopping Centers such as this one attracted the attention
of passerby's traveling along what we now know as Independence Boulevard.
More structures, such as this modern example were beginning to cater
specifically to those with a disposable income to spare. The Coliseum
Center sign is a prime example of superb eye-catching colorful signage which
attracted attention from passerby's traveling along what is now known as
Independence Boulevard in their automobiles. This structure is in to
be demolished this year.
