Briefly Summarizing Known History Of The Property:
North Tryon Street was
formerly known as part of the major commercial corridor US N29 which ran
through Charlotte, NC. Thus, automobiles and trucks became the
principal means of transportation through this area. Though this
structure may not have always been for storing vehicles, it is obviously an
superb representation a classic style of American architecture such as a
barn which would typically be built from wood. With the new wave of
modernism, developers and builders begin experimenting with tools and
materials such as metal, steel, and heavy plastics. Therefore classic
American architecture, such as this "barn style" structure, would now in the
1950's began being built out of reinforced metal materials.
