Briefly Summarizing Known History Of The Property:
Independence Boulevard was
once one of Charlotte's major commercial corridors. Thus,
automobiles and trucks became the principal means of transportation through
this area. Eateries and Cafeterias such as The K&W attracted the
attention of passerby's traveling along what we know today as Independence
Boulevard. More structures, such as this modern example of a cafeteria
were beginning to cater specifically to those with a disposable income to
spare. The K&W Cafeteria is a surviving example of eye-catching colors
which attracted attention of hungry passerby's. This structure is in
to be demolished this year.
