North Tryon Street was
formerly known as part of the major commercial corridor US N29 which ran
through Charlotte, NC. As automobiles and
trucks became the principal means of transportation, it was only
logical that restaurants, such as the Millennium Restaurant became part of the
streetscape. The Millennium Restaurant represents a style of
commercial architecture that was particularly popular in the 1950s and
1960s.
