Briefly Summarizing Known History Of The Property:
North Tryon Street was
formerly known as part of the major commercial corridor US N29 which ran
through Charlotte, NC. Thus, automobiles
and trucks became the principal means of transportation through this area.
Inevitably, epicenters which aided and maintained automobiles rapidly became present
in the area, a prime example is The Body Shop - Collision Center located on
what is now known as North Tryon Street. Although, our focus is on the
The Body Shop's antique truck sign. Since the building is relatively a
newly built structure, (built in 1980). This brightly painted red
antique truck represents a time of simplicity, when there were not as many
roads (interstates) to choose from.
